America

Our background

Midge had already visited these battlefields and Pearl Harbour in 1991 and we both went to Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland during a trip to the USA in 2006. He had also been a member of Perth’s Confederate Society for some years. I had been to Arlington Cemetery and Pearl Harbour in 1980.

American battle sites are very well presented, with excellent sign boards, museums, guides and information material. Civil War areas are dotted with monuments and memorials and here we present our small collection of photos and videos. We are not giving detailed information about the battles here, as Midge explains what happened in the video clips.
